Marina talks about the Plastic Ocean Movie and upcoming golf tournament

A feature-length adventure documentary that brings to light the consequences of our global disposable lifestyle, A Plastic Ocean has been screening to sold out audiences worldwide. Pacific Whale Foundation will host the Maui premiere followed by a discussion with experts on the issue of marine debris. Tickets are just $15 in advance or $20 at the door, with proceeds funding ongoing marine debris research conducted by Pacific Whale Foundation. On August 20, 72 golfers will have the opportunity to play one of Maui’s few and most coveted sea-to-mountain golf courses at Makena Golf & Beach Club. The fundraising scramble tournament will benefit the restoration of Paniaka, an important wetland site at the South end of Big Beach in Makena State Park.

Registration includes the chance to win big prizes for closest to the pin on all Par 3's and hole in one prizes including $15,000 cash. Multi Grammy Award winning artist George Kahumoku will provide live music during the post tournament luncheon, sponsored by Maui Wine and Maui Brewing Company.
